Q: Is La Piña Verde adults-only?
A: Yes. La Piña Verde is an adults-only boutique B&B and we welcome guests aged 18 and over. With only five rooms, the atmosphere is deliberately peaceful and relaxed, whether you want to spend your time exploring Andalusia or doing very little beside the pool.
Q: Is breakfast included?
A: Yes. A freshly prepared à la carte breakfast is included with every stay and is served between 09:00 and 10:00. We prepare breakfast to order each morning, including freshly squeezed orange juice and plenty of choice to start the day properly.
Q: Does La Piña Verde have Wi-Fi?
A: Yes. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, including the bedrooms, gardens, pool area and shared spaces.
Q: Is a car recommended?
A: Yes, we strongly recommend having a car. La Piña Verde is in the countryside outside Estepona, and having your own transport makes it much easier to enjoy the beaches, restaurants, golf courses, padel clubs, White Villages and everything else the area has to offer.
Q: Is parking available?
A: Yes. Complimentary secure on-site parking is available for our guests, with access through our electronic entrance gates.
Q: How far is La Piña Verde from Estepona Old Town?
A: Estepona Old Town is approximately 5 km from La Piña Verde. It is close enough to enjoy the restaurants, bars, shops and seafront whenever you want them, while our countryside setting gives you somewhere considerably quieter to come home to.
Q: What is the road like approaching La Piña Verde?
A: The final section of the journey is along approximately 500 metres of unpaved country road. It can be a little bumpy in places, so take it slowly, but it is regularly used by normal cars. We send detailed arrival directions and a GPS pin before check-in so you can find us easily.
Q: What time is check-in?
A: Standard check-in is between 15:00 and 18:00. Late check-in can be arranged in advance: arrivals between 18:00 and 21:00 are subject to a €25 charge, and arrivals between 21:00 and midnight to a €50 charge. We are unable to accommodate arrivals after midnight.
Q: What time is check-out?
A: Standard check-out is at 11:00. Subject to availability, late check-out until 13:30 can sometimes be arranged for an additional €25.
Q: When do I pay for my stay?
A: For direct bookings made through our website, a 20% deposit is taken at the time of booking. The remaining balance is automatically charged 30 days before arrival. Reservations must be paid in full before arrival unless we have agreed otherwise with you in advance.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Your 20% deposit is fully refundable if you cancel more than 30 days before arrival. Cancellations made within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable. Reservations made through Booking.com or Expedia are subject to the cancellation terms shown when booking through those platforms.
Q: How many guest rooms does La Piña Verde have?
A: Just five. There are three individually designed rooms within the main house and two handcrafted Plankbridge Shepherd’s Huts tucked away together in their own corner of the gardens. Keeping La Piña Verde small is an important part of the experience.
Q: What are the Shepherd’s Huts?
A: El Olivo and Lilia are our two handcrafted Shepherd’s Huts, custom-built for La Piña Verde in the UK by Plankbridge. Each has an elevated Super King bed, private en-suite bathroom with rainfall shower, air conditioning and all the comforts you would expect from our house rooms, but with the character of staying in something rather different.
Q: Do the rooms have air conditioning?
A: Yes. Every room has individually controlled air conditioning for both cooling and heating.
Q: Are all rooms en-suite?
A: Yes. All five rooms, including both Shepherd’s Huts, have their own private en-suite bathroom with a walk-in rainfall shower.
Q: Are tea and coffee facilities available?
A: Each room has a Nespresso coffee machine, and complimentary bottled water is provided. There is also a coffee machine and a dedicated guest fridge in the shared guest area.
Q: Does La Piña Verde have a swimming pool?
A: Yes. Our 10 m x 5 m swimming pool is surrounded by gardens, loungers and places to relax. The pool has no shallow end and access is by ladder. Pool towels are provided and, with only five rooms, setting an alarm at dawn to reserve a sun lounger really isn't necessary.
Q: Does La Piña Verde have self-catering facilities?
A: No. La Piña Verde is a bed and breakfast rather than self-catering accommodation. Guests have access to a dedicated guest fridge and coffee facilities, but our kitchen, fridges, ovens, hob, barbecues and pizza ovens are for our use only.
Q: Does La Piña Verde serve lunch or dinner?
A: We don't operate a restaurant, but on selected evenings we occasionally cook for guests, with anything from an Argentine barbecue or wood-fired pizzas to one of our special dinners. These aren't offered every day and availability varies. There are also excellent restaurants throughout Estepona and the surrounding area, and we're always happy to tell you where we would eat.
Q: Can guests bring takeaway food back to La Piña Verde?
A: Yes. Guests are welcome to bring prepared takeaway food back and enjoy it in the shared dining areas. We simply ask that food isn't eaten in the bedrooms. Please note that we don't provide self-catering facilities, so our kitchen appliances and outdoor cooking equipment are not available for guest use.
Q: Does La Piña Verde have a bar?
A: Yes. Our honesty bar is stocked with wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks, so you can help yourself whenever you fancy something and simply add it to your room.
Q: Can you accommodate dietary requirements or food allergies?
A: We can accommodate many dietary requirements provided you let us know in advance, as everything is bought and prepared for our small number of guests rather than stocked in the quantities you would expect from a large hotel.
We do not offer a dedicated vegan breakfast and don't routinely stock specialist vegan products. If you have other dietary requirements, please contact us before booking and we'll tell you honestly what we can accommodate.
Unfortunately, we cannot safely cater for guests with a severe nut allergy. Nuts are handled and stored in our kitchen and, as a small B&B without separate food-preparation areas, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
Q: Is La Piña Verde dog-friendly?
A: We have one designated dog-friendly room for guests travelling with a well-behaved, house-trained dog. There is a €20 per night supplement for dogs, and dogs must not be left unattended in the room. Please contact us before booking so we can confirm availability and explain the arrangements.
Q: Do the rooms have televisions?
A: Our bedrooms are deliberately designed as peaceful places to relax and disconnect, so televisions are not a feature of the rooms. El Galli has a screen available for guests who wish to use their own streaming services, and there is a large smart TV in the shared guest lounge.
Q: What are the nearest airports?
A: Málaga Airport is approximately 80 km from La Piña Verde and Gibraltar Airport approximately 52 km away. Both provide convenient access to this part of the Costa del Sol.
Q: Do you offer airport transfers?
A: Yes. Private transfers from Málaga or Gibraltar airports can be arranged in advance for an additional charge. Please contact us before arrival and we can organise this for you.
Q: How far is Puerto Banús?
A: Puerto Banús is approximately 14 km from La Piña Verde, making Marbella, San Pedro and Puerto Banús all easy to visit during your stay.
Q: Is La Piña Verde suitable for longer stays?
A: Absolutely. Many guests stay for a week or longer. Our peaceful setting makes La Piña Verde an easy place to slow down, while Estepona, Marbella, the coast and some of our favourite parts of Andalusia are close enough to explore during the day.
Q: What type of guests usually stay at La Piña Verde?
A: Most of our guests are couples looking for somewhere peaceful and personal rather than a conventional resort hotel. Some come to explore Estepona and Andalusia, others come to play golf or padel, and quite a few discover that doing absolutely nothing for a few days works rather well too.
Q: Is La Piña Verde suitable for guests with limited mobility?
A: La Piña Verde is built into a hillside and has steps and changes of level throughout the property, so unfortunately it may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility. Please contact us before booking if you have any concerns and we'll explain the layout honestly so you can decide whether it will work for you.
Q: Is smoking permitted?
A: All bedrooms and indoor areas are strictly non-smoking. Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas within the grounds.
Q: Does La Piña Verde accept stag or hen parties?
A: No. La Piña Verde is deliberately peaceful and we don't accept stag or hen parties. Small private group bookings may be possible by prior arrangement, provided the nature of the stay is compatible with the atmosphere of the property.
