About La Piña Verde
La Piña Verde was never designed to feel like a hotel.
When we created it, we wanted the sort of place we would choose to stay ourselves — small, peaceful, comfortable and individual, with beautiful surroundings, great breakfasts and hosts who genuinely enjoy having people around.
We are Martin and Viktoria, the owners and your hosts, and La Piña Verde is also our home. We deliberately keep things small, with just five rooms, because it allows us to offer the kind of hospitality we believe a place like this should have — personal without being intrusive.
Some guests want to sit and chat over breakfast, hear about our favourite places to visit, discover where we would go for lunch or stay for a glass of wine and put the world to rights. Others want breakfast, a good book and a quiet corner beside the pool. Both work perfectly for us. A large part of good hospitality is knowing the difference.
Mornings here start with breakfast prepared fresh for you, afternoons tend to drift towards the pool and gardens, and evenings might involve a restaurant recommendation, a glass of wine, something we've cooked or a conversation that lasts considerably longer than anyone intended.
You'll probably also meet Lilly, our Beagle, who has appointed herself an unofficial member of the hosting team. Her responsibilities appear to consist mainly of greeting guests, finding the most comfortable place to sleep and occasionally investigating what everyone is having for breakfast.
Perhaps that's why one of the things guests tell us most often is that staying at La Piña Verde doesn't really feel like staying in a hotel. It feels more like being welcomed into someone's home.
That's exactly how we want it.
